Dog Parks Near 92130

There are three great dog parks right in or near Carmel Valley, San Diego (92130) each with a slightly different vibe. Here's how to think about them:

🐶Pacific Highlands Ranch Community Park . ⭐ Nava's Favorite

5977 Village Center Loop Rd, San Diego 92130

The newest and most family-friendly option in the area. Features two separate fenced dog parks — one for large dogs and one for small — plus water fountains with dog spigots and poop bag stations throughout. Parking is easy with ample space at the school and nearby streets. The recreation center offers clean bathrooms and additional amenities, making it a comfortable stop for longer visits. You'll almost always find a great family presence here, which makes it a welcoming environment.

Entry to the dog park is through double doors for added safety, keeping dogs secure during entry and exit. Many dog owners like to have a quick chat with those already inside before entering — a friendly local habit that helps ensure the dogs are a good match. Come ready to socialize, share a little about your dog's personality and preferences, and enjoy the community feel that makes this park special

💗 Nava's pick — After a good run at the dog park, I love walking around the soccer fields, then heading across to the shopping center for a cup of coffee or tea.

🐶 Torrey Hills Dog Park

4645 Carmel Mountain Rd, San Diego 92130

Fully fenced with a spacious off-leash area, water fountain, plenty of shade, and seating throughout — making it a comfortable visit for owners as well as their dogs. Free poop bags are available on site. No separate sections for small and large dogs, and given the expansive open space, it is best suited for dogs that respond well to voice commands from their owners. Known for a tight-knit group of regulars who have been coming for years.

The park is tucked behind a strip mall with easy parking right there. What makes this spot particularly convenient is what surrounds it — the mall offers a self-dog washing shop, coffee shops, and other amenities that round out the visit nicely. It's a great combination of dog park and after-visit activities, all in one stop.

🐶 Torrey Highlands Dog Park

Lansdale Dr off Del Mar Heights Rd, San Diego 92130

Features a generous blend of grassy and dirt areas, a large central gazebo with shaded seating, double-gated entry for added security, clean restrooms, and nearby hiking trails. A good fit for owners who want more comfort while their dog runs, and for active dogs who enjoy a trail walk before or after park time.
